Introduction:- My family decided to visit the Gangotri during our summer vacation in the month of May. It is a town in the state of Uttarakhand on the banks of river Bhagirathi.

Description:- We started our journey early morning at 5:00 am. After travelling for 10 hours, we decided to stay for the night at Joshimath, a town in Uttarakhand. Next morning, we again started our journey early and reached the Gangotri town at about 11:30 am.

This is the place from where the Ganga originated and it is one of the four sites in a Char Dham pilgrimage. There is a Gangotri temple and river is called ‘Bhagirathi’. Here, king Bhagirath had prayed for several centuries to bring the Ganga river on the Earth to make free the Souls of his ancestors.

Visit to the Temple:- After having a bath in the holy water of river Bhagirathi we visited the Gangotri temple. The place is really peaceful. We had lunch and tea at a nearby dhaba after visiting the temple.

Conclusion:- It was a breathtaking site full of natural beauty and peaceful surroundings. We enjoyed every moment of this holy place visit.

Introduction :- This year I went to Haridwar with my parents. We reached there at 10 a.m. by bus. We stayed in a hotel . Haridwar is a famous holy city situated on the banks of the sacred Ganga. The water of the Ganga is pure divine water.

Description :- This place is famous far and wide. People from various parts of the country come here to take a dip in the holy water of the Ganga. There was great rush of people all around. Haridwar is famous for its Ganga Ghats called ‘Har ki Pauri’ . There are hundreds of temples in this holy city. The holiest temple of the city is the ‘Ganga Mandir’ in the mid – stream. There are many markets in Haridwar. There are chaat and sweet shops also.

Conclusion :- We paid homage to the holy Ganges and spent there two days happily. Our visit to Haridwar was memorable.
